VIDEO: Battles - Africastle (live)
And people thought the loss of Tyondai Braxton would spell the end of Battles.
Pitchfork.TV has started to release material from a new series: City of Music. In Pitchfork's second installment of CoM, Battles are recorded performing the first track off of their latest, insane, pink goo filled album Gloss Drop. "Africastle" is a track that starts with a yawn and ends in a roar. Via John Stanier's relentless drumming, Battles play an intense live version that will instantly blow minds and entice head-bobbing and fist-pumping. And plenty of pink gooing, whatever that means.
Also, the video is filmed well and memorably, thanks in part to shots of the "city of music" and some kaleidoscopic effects that both fit the song perfectly.
