The Shins released a "mah-jam!" worthy track already this year in "Simple Song." Now that track's B-Side, and supposed album cut from their forthcoming Port Of Morrow LP, has been released. "September" is much more downbeat and is a throw back to James Mercer's earlier work with the band. Port Of Morrow is looking increasingly like a mixture of the older Shins version of indie-pop and a newer, glossier, more ambitious style of balladry. Color me excited.
