TRACK: Best Coast - "The Only Place"

Love them or hate them, it's been impossible to surf the blogosphere without reading about Best Coast's girl group-inspired brand of surf pop for the last couple years.  They've played Letterman, they've immortalized frontwoman Bethany Cosentino's cat Snacks in plushie form, and now they're set to release their sophomore album The Only Place.  Produced by Jon Brion whose credits include Kanye West, of Montreal, and Fiona Apple, Cosentino has described the record as a decidedly more mature venture than 2010's boy-crazed Crazy for You.

The Only Place is slated for release on Mexican Summer on May 15.
