TRACK: Royal Headache - "Down the Lane"

It feels a bit odd to post a track from an album that was released last year (and that I already own on vinyl) but because it's getting a wider release on What's Your Rupture?, here we go.  Royal Headache is an Australian four-piece garage rock band who incorporate elements of soul and pop into their lo-fi fury.  Listen to the finger-snappingly catchy "Down the Lane" below:

Royal Headache's self-titled debut is slated for rerelease on What's Your Rupture? on May 8.  SPOILER ALERT: It's really, really good.

Hey, you know Passion Pit? Well, while this may sound nothing like Passion Pit, the guy responsible for their synths Ayad Al Adhamy picked up a guitar and wrote some pretty awesome garage rock jams. Here is their video for "Fuck the Beach," taken from a five track EP which can unfortunately only be purchased at shows. The video features an animated version of the band eating hallucinogenic green ice cream and entering a giant alien women's vagina, amongst plenty of other trippy shit. This is my kinda video.

VIDEO: Bleached - "Searching Through The Past"

There's something magical about garage pop.  Scuzzy, lo-fi guitars and pop hooks just really do it for me. My favorite band to master that combination at the moment is Bleached.  Hailing from the Los Angeles, the duo comprised of sisters (and former Mika Miko members) released a trio of great singles last year.  Trust me when I say these girls are going to be huge when they drop their debut full-length, slated for release this year. Watch the band wander through the desert (and look cooler than I ever will) below.
