Vancouver (via London, ON) rapper shad released his last full length album TSOL back in 2010. While he put out a mixtape of guest spots that he's done on other albums titled Besdies since then, we haven't heard any new material from Shad since 2010... until now that it.
Shad recently dropped a new 5 track EP which was cleverly titled Melancholy And The Infinite Shadness, which is of course a play in the seminal Smashing Pumpkins album Melon Collie And The Infinite Sadness. Even thought I don't hear any Smashing Pumpkins sampled on this EP (but there is a Lenny Kravitz sample which he manages to make sound cool), it still shows off why Shad is unequivocally the best rapper in Canada. He drops a bevy of pop culture references and clever lines, not to mention that his flow is impeccable as always.
I can only hope that this means a new full length album from Shad is on its way in the near future.
