SPOTLIGHT: Safari Al - Hermitage Academy

Haldo internet! This is Austin, your friend. As you may recall, a few months ago I gave a fairly shining review to Milo's debut mixtape I wish my brother Rob was here (found here). On a particular track on said mixtape, entitled "Super Happy Sunshine Fun Club), a fellow rapper of the Radical Underground Wisconsin Rap Scene by the name of Safari Al. Safari Al, as all you diehard fans will know, is named after one of Calvin's (of Calvin and Hobbes) alter-egos. Which, in my mind, means that there is very little chance that he won't be awesome. And from what I've heard of his new mixtape, Hermitage Academy, he doesn't disappoint. It's in much of the same attitude and tone of Milo's tape, that being a sort of geeky detachment from humanity, but with a more emotional rapping style, more singing and hooks than Milo. He also has the same excellent taste in instrumentals as Milo. He even raps over an Aphex Twin track. That's right, Aphex Twin. Take a listen to the title track from the mixtape, and download it pay-what-you-want style here.
