Our friends at Dirty Projectors have just revealed the first song from their as-of-yet unnamed 2012 LP.
And it is good.
"Gun Has No Trigger" continues to explore the realm of accessibly odd pop tunes that populated 2009's Bitte Orca. Frontman David Longstreth's distinctive and powerful voice is supported by some "ooooo's" and "ahhhhh's" and wonderful harmonizing from backup singer Amber Coffman. The instrumentation and beat are simple, but utilized to make quite the catchy groove and place more emphasis on the always-impressive vocal arrangements.
I'd say this track bodes quite well for the upcoming record, but you can decide for yourself:
