In 2008, Gentleman Jesse Smith gave the world an incredible gift, the debut album of Gentleman Jesse & His Men. The album's throwback-style of power pop (the album art even pays homage to Elvis Costello's This Year's Model) seemingly came out of nowhere and tracks like "Highland Crawler," "All I Need Tonight (Is You)" and "If I Can See You (You're Too Close to Me)" were so fantastic they had the music world absolutely astounded that they weren't covers.
Now Gentleman Jesse is back with a solo sophomore album out on Douchemaster Records next month. Beaten by his beloved Atlanta going to hell in a handbasket after the economic collapse, Jesse retreated into his basement where he wrote what would become Leaving Atlanta.
