For this edition of "The Best in Free," we travel to the Netherlands to visit instrumental hip hop maestro Duke Hugh. The Madrid transplant has a knack for finding simple-but-effective melodies, punchy rhythms and chill out atmospherics. His latest EP, entitled The Sound, is a bit of an odd beast. While the hard-hitting beats and soothing melodies might seem incongruous on paper, the interesting combination makes the record versatile. You can just as easily lose yourself in The Sound as you can stomp your feet.
