HEAVY FRIENDS: Between the Buried and Me - "Telos"

There are some bands that I absolute love that I can see being divisive for people. Between the Buried and Me seem to be one of them, but in all truthfulness they've made some of my favorite modern metal records. Records like Colors and The Great Misdirect are virtuous displays of progressive metal mixed with death metal mixed with metalcore mixed with just about any other influence you can think of. What I love about this band is that they don't believe in the concept of boundaries, and I wish more bands could be as daring.

Well after 2011's The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues EP we were promised a sequel of sorts to be on the horizon, and now The Parallax II: Future Sequence is coming on October 9th, and we have the first track to drop from it. "Telos" is a 10-minute epic that goes through the hills and valleys you'd expect a Between song to venture through. While this territory is not all that unfamiliar for Between, this upcoming album is said to be over 70 minutes long, so this is just one piece of the very big puzzle.

Stream "Telos" below, and look out for The Parallax II: Future Sequence out on October 9th on Metal Blade Records.
